The talk will give a background to Goosanders in the UK, the information we have about them and their interaction with Atlantic Salmon and the angling industry.
The talk will cover how the team caught Goosanders, and where on two river catchment areas in Scotland, and the results of the tracking work.
Anthony Wetherhill is a Field Co-ordinator for BTO Scotland responsible for carrying out and reporting on fieldwork projects across Scotland. He is also currently secretary of the Tay Ringing Group, an active ringer specialising in hard to catch species (which includes Goosanders). His main interest is in upland birds and their habitats, including Ring Ouzel and Ptarmigan.
